MONTESSORI TODDLER AND CASA PROGRAM:

“The Montessori method is based on love of the child and respect for his natural capabilities.”

The Montessori Method of education is followed whereby the child learns at his/her own pace and absorbs information from an enriched prepared environment. The child’s sensitive periods are recognized as he/she is guided to develop co-ordination, concentration, good work habits, and academic skills.

Montessori materials and activities generally fall into these five groups:

  • Practical Life
  • Sensorial
  • Language
  • Mathematics
  • and Cultural Activities

In addition, our school provides French, Music, Physical Education and Yoga classes.

OUTSIDE ACTIVITIES:

The students of Prince Edward Montessori go on field trips. Examples of such outings include museums, farms, and library.

AGES:

This program is for students of two and a half to six years old.

MONTESSORI TODDLER PROGRAM:

During the first three years of life, a child’s brain absorbs more information from the environment than at any other part of his lifetime. Every sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell is taken in and processed. It is an amazing, wondrous period in a tiny, complete human being’s life.

The Montessori Infant/Toddler environment provides a safe, calm, carefully designed setting for optimal learning that nurtures the physical and spiritual being. Sensory, cognitive, language, social, and cultural activities address the natural tendencies of the child’s developmental process. Even at this early stage, a child is soon able to make choices for his own independence.

This program is for students of 18 months to 2.5 years old.
